I have always painted and drawn.  No matter what kind of project I was doing, as long as I was using my hands and getting dirty, I was totally happy.
I graduated from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Florida as a member of the Art Honor Society in 1996.  From there I moved on to getting a Bachelor in Criminal justice with a minor in art at the University of North Florida in 2000.
In September 2002 I moved with my husband to Japan.  It was there that I started to miss my art.  I  began painting in the hotel room that we lived in for the first two months.   I felt so inspired with all of the new sites and culture.   My Japan experience was like a sabbatical to me.  I showed my work at an art show for the first time since high school.  I was a nervous wreck, but I learned a lot.  I have since moved back to Jacksonville and have continued to grow stronger in my work.
My signature style is mixed media collages.  Currently, I am working on my series First Dance as well as experimenting with charcoal and black & white photographs.  While in Japan I started tackling water color for the first time.  I never really worked with water color before.  I preferred acrylic, but it seemed a good solution to our small living space.  You will see some of this work on my site.
My goal for now is to keep working and become stronger and more professional as an artist.  You can see me and my work at the Jacksonville Art Walk in Hemming Plaza every 1st Wednesday of the month.
This is a graphic intensive site. Thanks for your patience.
